Holiday Madness!!

I must admit - if I EVER saw a real Lindt chocolate bunny this size, this is EXACTLY the hug it would get from me!!!! :) My little one LOVES the normal size Lindt bunnies and this was just too much for her chocoholic heart to handle!! (.... and yes, I did buy her a little one to make up for the devastation when realising this is not really chocolate and no, she can't take it home!!)
I hope you had a wonderful and blessed Easter! We had a lovely holiday with no computer, no internet and.......you guessed it - no posts. So now, I'm a BB (bad blogger;)..again!
My parents always said after arriving home from a holiday : "Oh, it's sooooo good to be home!". I always thought it was a crazy thing to say - who didn't enjoy holiday!! I must be getting old - those where my exact words when we arrived back at home sweet home.
To top it all I enjoyed the last overnight of the holiday in hospital with UTI (urinary tract infection for the non-medical bloggers:) and must admit I'm still not 100%. The experience made me sooo grateful - it was the first time in my life I had an IV and apart from childbirth it was my first time ever in hospital!! I realised how much I had to be thankful for - the Lord blessed me with such amazing EVERYTHING! Anyhow......
I have a few lovely projects I completed just before the holiday and will post them pretty soon ........... I hope :)

Greener than green

This layout is a combination of a whole lot of ranges!! (and the photo is a bit left wing low!!). The star diecut paper is from the MM Animal Crackers range, the frame is Fabscraps, the script paper is from the 7G range! A lot of little extras added to create and interesting page as the photo is definitely not an award winner - it is the memory that plays with my heart strings!!

The lace flower in the middle is my own creation and I then added rub-on corners, glitter and chipboard letters, sparkly brad flowers and a rub-on to the frame! Photo turns complete the look of this layout (guess this isn't REALLY what they meant when they said GO GREEN!!!)

Prima Wedding

I fell in love with the Prima Lily the moment I saw it!! Combined with the Prima pearl swirls and the lacey photo border it looks perfect with my mom's wedding photo! I love how the lace also leads the eye to the lace detail in the dress and the pearls go perfectly with the little pearl earrings! A little lace ribbon and freehand cut birdie completes the look. The layout was so perfect, I just had to scraplift the idea!

Looking at the photo - I can still see the same love in her eyes today when she looks at dad! Isn't that amazing! Absolute contentment, happiness and fulfilment!

Storage Galore!

What a stunning project!! I completed the storage drawer by Kaisercraft with 7Gypsies paper and I think it is gorgeous - even if I have to say so myself! This will actually be my new jewellery box on top of my dresser (no - I do not live in the wild outdoors - BAD lighting indoors :) It is a bit fiddly but once you get the hang of it, it goes fairly quick. Lovely project to do with friends as you can chat and laugh (and eat sublime home-made milk tart - what good friends I have!!) as you cover box after box after box. The bookplates are also 7Gypsies and add a bit of glamour to the project. It is also nice and sturdy........
and fairly childproof :)

A Sketchy Family?!?

We were on holiday and had our photo taken and "Sketched" by one of the photo booths at the cinema!! We had a good giggle to all try and fit in the booth and between all the hair my hubby just made the picture (after about five pics!!).

I used the BIG punctuation mark stamp set from MSE to create my background. The asterisk (*) and full stop (.) made for the perfect flowers in orange and turquoise. I stamped the brackets on printed paper and then cut along the edge to create a border pattern - who said you needed border punches:).

I like the happy feel of the layout as it reminds me of the good time we had when we had the picture taken!! The colours are also summery and bright and I used the bold patterns just enough to accentuate the photo and not totally overwhelm it!

If you are more than three in your family - good luck trying to fit in that booth!!! :)

Oh Cristmas tree .....

I just fell in love with the Belle range from Kaisercraft. As is obvious I'm catching up on some Christmas photies!!

I love the distressed look of paint around the edges of a layout and I created a paper ribbon to add some interesting elements to the page. The torn paper adds to the vintage feel and the bracket draws the eye to the quote printed on the photo!

There is something a Christmas tree lights up in my heart! The feeling of peace and hope and to know that I'm truly loved. The quote reads : "Every time we love, every time we give..... it's Christmas!" We can have the Christmas spirit through-out the year - won't that be amazing!

Christmas past!

Phoooooeeeeee - ALLRIGHT, you can stop holding your breath - at last I posted again!! I'm what you call a BB (Bad Blogger) these days!

This photo was a chance shot in a shop on my cellphone! The Kaisercraft paper was perfect for the red and green in the photo and the wooden reindeer (a tree ornament!) was perfect with the antlers in the photo. I added a frame to the photo in Photoshop and blurred the busy background just a little as I wanted the shop to be visible - shows the silly moment we had!

The layout has a lot of white space -not to overwhelm the single photo on the page. With a few stitches, rub-on and cork embellishments the LO has just enough to keep the eye focused on the photo.

Hope you have many hours of happy scrappin'
