Tag, your it!

Over the weekend I played with plain blank white tags and some beautiful black stamps. I love using newspaper to wrap a gift with a nice coloured ribbon and one of these tags - simple but effective!

The first set is more on the feminine side - just LOVE these birdie stamps! All the stamps are embossed and it adds a little glamour to the tag!

Then I created a set more for the guys - maybe around a bottle of wine or a nice sauce for the BBQ?

The last black and white set I added a smidgen of colour with my Smooch - love the sparkle it adds! These are more for the kiddies gifts................cute, aren't they??

Play with your stamps and off-cuts - a simple rectangle creates a beautiful tag in an instant! use as is or use your corner rounder for a softer effect.

Groovie March...and a little dotty too:)

Hop over to Groovie Covers and join us in the dotty madness of March!! Remember you don't need a blog to participate in the challenge - e-mail your LO and stand a chance to win a lovely RAK:)

This month's cover is really colourful and fun - and the dots made my imagination run WILD!!

I designed my LO using not only the dots as inspiration, but also the colours.

Inspired by the dots I used buttons in all the colours and as I only used plain cardstock I thought it a nice opportunity to freehand doodle on the page ...................yes, freehand - it was totally scary and liberating!!

Get dotty with us and do something a little out of the box:)

Bubbles with Attitude

I was home alone on Saturday, blissfully scrapping the day away (first scrap session at home since November!!!!!), reading mags and napping - felt like holiday!

This photo just grabbed me and I just had to scrap it straight away - the attitude just made me smile and I never imagined a bubble gun can provide so many hours of fun!! Every now and again Oupa and Ouma sends a parcel in the post with goodies and gifts and this bubble gun was surely a winner!!

I just love the Enmarc doilie sets and used it as a photo background on my LO. Little smidgens of green in the paper are highlighted by the grass in the photo and I tied it together with green letters on my sign.

The sign used to be a hanging sign!!!!! - after completing the LO I set it on the floor to dry - as I always do. It was time for a cup of tea and when I returned I found bit of pieces of brown cardstock and pearls all through the room..........what on earth............. our little daschund wanted to play as well (knew scrapping was contagious!!!) and ATE all the embellishments of the page - even a piece of the doilie!! MAMA was not happy but since she was also home alone and neglected to scrapbooking I couldn't be angry too long!

As you know every mistake is an opportunity for an embellishment..........hence no more hanging sign - just sign, a journalling block, lace strip, butterfly and pretty bow disguises the damage - yes, even the hole she tore in the page!! - must admit, I like the new look better:)

Note to self - DO NOT LEAVE LO ON THE FLOOR:) :) - dog will eat;)

Mini Cards

We have so many parties and occasions this time of year that I've decided to play with a few mini-cards. They're super easy to attach to a chocolate or bottle of wine:)

To create the butterfly I used photo corners and brads (we all have stashes of those!!) on a little piece of printed paper - super fast and easy.

The flower cards is simply two circles, snipped into sections and folded this way, that way, this way (double sided print works best) and attached on top of each other with a funky button (we all have stashes of those too:))

The ladybug card is two large circles - top one snipped in half - with a few eyelets for dots:). The head is a small circle with bling eyes and string antennae - super cute (also very cute attached to a straw as a party favour;)

Use those little bitty off-cuts and create min-card creations - it's oodles of fun!

Groovie January

I just realise I've never posted the January challenge over at Groovie Covers (I promise.........life will get back to normal soon - hopefully:))! You have two days left to play along;0

This is the book cover to use as inspiration............................

..............and this is my take on the cover. The printed paper is soooo beautiful, it doesn't need much else to create a beautiful LO! I've added some pearls, lace, cut-outs and sanded my photo to draw the eye across the page. I love the subtle colours - goes perfectly with the "shy" look on the photo:)

Hope you feel inspired to play!

Little Red Riding Hood

Wowee, I hope if the year starts with such a bang it will keep going:). I'm back to "almost" normal after the school year's start and will hopefully be scrapping again soon!! I have a few projects up my sleeve but will post them as we go along:)

The Scraphouse launched a competition last year for their 2nd Birthday bash. In your pack was a range of prints and some plains and the challenge was to create a double page with a heading using only the paper provided!! NO other embellishments, NO ribbon, NO buttons - only stamps and punches.

I created this LO with paper ribbon strips, punched circle flowers and stamped a title for my page. I absolutely adore these photos of my little one playing with my winter coat!!

The LO won me a cool voucher to spend in Ria's lovely shop:)

Shake of the holiday dust (I know some of you are still on holiday in spirit!) and get scrappin'
